It’s easy to jump into action, polishing the CV, updating the LinkedIn profile etc. But rushing to action is not a good investment of your time if you are not clear where you are heading. Clarify your strategy before you plan your tactics and go to market. It can be difficult to navigate a professional reinvention on your own. A good career coach can save you countless hours of frustration by sharing best practices with you and helping you avoid common pitfalls as you make the transition.

First 90 Days:

As a newly hired leader, you are expected to hit the ground running. We can help you to prepare to join your new organisation, work out your role, teams and organisational priorities, culture and power dynamics, to ensure you balance the many priorities you are faced with, to succeed in your first 90 days.

CFO Path Career Coaching: Aspire to be CFO one day? You need to take control of your career.

  • If Getting to CFO is 80% cent functional/technical skills & 20% leadership skills, then Once in the CFO chair this equation is turned on its head.
  • While relevant education (CPA, CA, CIMA, MBA Finance etc.) is fundamental and helpful in getting a head-start at the early stage of one’s finance career, once one approaches mid-career, the funnel for Growth opportunities gets narrower.
  • Then, successful CFO candidates are primarily shaped by the quality and diversity of their career experience. There are quite a few other areas like having a strategic mindset, honing stakeholder management skills, people leadership skills, communication skills, risk management skills, some appreciation for tax and treasury related matters as well as appreciation for technology and latest developments there as applicable to data, AI etc.
    • Learning path for further development is unclear and not structured.
    • Unfortunately, no formal training is usually provided in these areas.
    • As a result, no wonder, most finance professionals struggle and get stuck in their mid-careers.

Results of any type of career coaching naturally vary significantly depending on how much time you have available between sessions to do your research, test new ideas, reflect etc., how committed you are to change and many other factors. For some clients, preparing a great new CV and prepping for interviews can take 4–6 sessions, other clients have come for 3 sessions and achieved their desired result. Our coaching programs also include email support between the sessions with your Coach.
