As Srishti comes close to finishing her IBDP Board exams, and another milestone passes by, both Shubha & I cannot help but reflect on the last 2 years, in particular the last 12 months when we commenced the university application process under your guidance. I engaged the services of Mrs. Bhanu Ramchandran to help lighten the load of the US college applications process for myself and my son who is in IB yr 2. Since both my son and I were new to this process, it was reassuring to have a qualified person review the application materials. Bhanu was a reliable support, holding our hands through the application process. She helped us prioritise and shortlist colleges of interest, gave us feedback on universities, and got us started on the paperwork. Bhanu gave useful pointers in essay writing, helped with editing and finishing the common essay as well as the individual college ones. I remember essay writing for undergrad admissions being very stressful because I had no idea how to present myself through my essays. As a teenager, something that is extremely important to me is meeting someone who is non-judgmental with how far I’ve come as a student and who I am as a person. Being repeatedly asked about my grades and accomplishments really annoyed and made me question if my worth comes down to only these things.
